Los Angeles, 1992. A world tour that never happened.

Nobody remembers the shows. They remember what came between. A room at the Hollywood-Calm Motel, 1133 N. Vine St., the sign buzzing all night. The maintenance crews out on the Venice boardwalk before the city woke up. The roadie who never got on stage and never missed a show.

These are the clothes from those hours. The Rodeo Cut, 13oz selvedge in a bootcut, faded through the thighs with a dusty tint, like it came in off a long drive. The Straight Cut Roadie, ripped at the knee and splattered from loading out. Shrunken tees cut short in the body the way they were worn in the seventies, the Hollywood Motel sign and the 17 printed cracked from the start. A zip hoodie stitched first and washed after, so the distressing lands where it would land on its own. Hickory stripe work pants, the fabric railroad crews wore through the sixties, repaired and worn in. Hollywood checkered shirts worn open over a green and lilac long sleeve, two colours that shouldn’t work together and do. And the caps: World Tour 1992, Dream On under a shooting star, Dept. of Recreation, City of Los Angeles. Merch from a tour that only ever existed in someone’s head.
The tour never happened. The hours did.

Dreamers Never Die.
